MPD - safe, affordable & reliable
The Central American country of Nicaragua is one of the poorest in the Western Hemisphere and continues to struggle to find stability. Formerly under Spanish rule, it has been independent since 1821 but civil war and dictatorship have held it back. A mix of influences, the smoking Volcán Cocepción, rich rainforest and beaches have started attracting tourists in modest numbers and this alongside the agricultural, clothing and textile exports are helping to give the economy a much needed boost. On top of this, the $50 billion project, backed by a Chinese billionaire, to build a canal through the country is also likely to see huge investment and trade increases. This steady boost has helped to reduce the cost of a parcel courier to Nicaragua for the 5,311-mile trip from the UK.

More than 6 million people live in the country and the multi-ethnic capital of Managua is the third-largest city in Central America. This means that most cheap postage to Nicaragua ends up here but other major cities include León, Masaya, Tipitapa, Cinandega, Matagalpa, Estelí and Granada. Whilst the majority of roads remain unpaved, the highway system does connect most of the country and there are more than 2,000 kilometres of navigable waterways throughout the country. When you send a parcel to Nicaragua, make sure that you are familiar with the postal code system. They use a 7 number system to show district, block and side. For example, if you’re sending to Granada, you would use 050-008-4.
