Thursday December 3, 2015
For anyone wanting to send post or parcels in time for Christmas, it’s time to get planning and make sure you don’t miss the last post dates.
Different courier services have their own set of guidelines for when you should get your parcels collected or dropped to be delivered before Christmas and this year Wednesday 23rd December is the cut-off date (with a 1-day delivery service from Parcelforce or UPS).
See our last posting dates for Christmas 2015 for a full list of services and some of our tips below for any last-minute gifts.
Don’t forget to book your parcel delivery in advance
With courier companies being so busy in the run up to Christmas, it’s a good idea to book your parcel in for collection or delivery a day before the actual collection or drop off date. So if you’re planning to have your parcel collected by the courier on Wednesday 23rd December, be sure to book your collection online the day before.
In our list of last posting dates we’ve included a guide to which date you should book your delivery by too.
Drop your parcels off in the morning
If you’ve booked a drop-off service, to help your parcels get delivered in time for Christmas, make sure you drop the parcel off as early as possible. For Hermes and Collect+ drop-off services, we’d advise you drop the parcel off before 11.30am.
Get your international parcels posted as early as possible
The last order dates for parcels to Europe and the rest of the world are a lot earlier, so if you’re planning to send a parcel abroad for Christmas, get your deliveries booked in as early as possible, especially as winter weather conditions could cause unexpected delays.
