MPD - safe, affordable & reliable
The large Arab country of Yemen is found in southwest Asia and is fairly unstable politically. It has always been at the crossroads of Africa, Asia and the Middle East but since Houthi Shia rebels took control in 2015 it has a more modern conundrum. With a conflict that could spread throughout the region, the economy has taken a tumble and Yemen is easily the poorest country in the region. Bordered by the oil-rich Saudi Arabia and Oman you can clearly see contrast in the fortunes of the country. This means that tourism is non-existent but with billions of dollars still in crude oil, coffee, fish and natural gas exports there is still a market for trade and a need for parcel delivery to Yemen.

More than 3,600 miles from London, Yemen would really feel like another world but in a stable state, the capital of Sana’a would be filled with tourists visiting one of the oldest cities in the world. With around 2 million inhabitants, it is easily the largest city in the country but other options for delivery services in Yemen include Al Hudaydah, Ta’izz, Aden, Al Mukalla, Ibb, Dham_r and ‘Amr_n. Postcodes aren’t used in the country and the poor infrastructure of the transport links make getting around extremely difficult. Airports and ports are slowly developing but the 71,300 kilometre road network has less than 10% paved.
