Parcel delivery to Tonga

Made up of more than 170 islands across the South Pacific, Tonga is a former British protectorate (it gained independence in 1970), the only monarchy in the Pacific and has been run by an elected government since 2010. With high unemployment, a reliance on the land and no real resources, agriculture and fishing are the main industries of the economy. The tropical island has a burgeoning tourist industry – that currently sees about 60,000 visitors a year – thanks to its rainforests, volcanoes and beautiful beaches. Many Tongans leave to start a life in New Zealand due to the lack of development on the island. Whilst the economy is growing by around 2.5% each year, diversifying the offerings is imperative to being sustainable in the future. Although it was under British rule, the 10,029 miles in distance between the two mean that there is little trade done between the two countries and parcel delivery to Tonga isn’t commonly available.
