Couriers spot on time
Secure Your Parcels
UPS couriers require all parcels must be packaged in a strong cardboard box with no shrink wrapping on the outside. If not UPS will add a surcharge to your delivery and we certainly wouldn't want that. Be aware that they also won't accept round tube parcels.
Make sure your printer is in full working order and topped up with ink as this service requires a printed label. While you're at it, why not print another and pop it inside your parcel just in case.
If you don't have scales and a tape measure at home, try using our guide to weighing & measuring. To make sure that you have no problems, we go with the motto “if in doubt be generous!”
For shipments outside of the EU, you will need to attach 5 copies of a completed pro-forma invoice to the outside of the parcel in a clear plastic wallet or envelope for customs purposes. Read more about this here
Be Aware of Residential Address Surcharges
Some UPS services come with a small surcharge per parcel if you're sending to a residential address. This includes residential addresses which are also being used for business purposes. Any surcharges will be clearly displayed before you complete the booking.
Give us the best number
UPS require you to leave a telephone number for your recipient. Please be sure to give their number wherever possible so they can get in touch if they have any problems.
What are the steps for collection or drop-off?
Once your parcel is packaged and ready to go just print your label and attach it to the outside of your parcel. Don’t forget that you must package it in a box without outer shrink wrap or you risk a surcharge from UPS. If you need any help knowing how to protect your parcel, give our packaging guidelines a look.
While you’re printing one label why not print 2? You can pop the other inside the box so that if the other falls off the courier can still see where it needs to go.
What time will the courier arrive for a collection?
Collection times are between
When and where can I drop-off my parcel?
There are plenty of UPS Access Point™ locations so simply take your parcel to one that's easy for you (usually a petrol station or newsagent). The UPS Access Point™ to drop off at are usually in locations with extended opening times but if you drop it off early, it can get delivered even faster!
Can I leave the item outside for the courier to pick up if I am not at home?
To keep your parcel (and you!) protected, UPS will only collect your boxed items directly from a person at your address, they will not collect it from outside your home – it’s better to be safe than sorry!
What happens if my item is too big or heavy?
The maximum parcel length permitted is 170cm, the maximum weight is 30kg and the maximum girth is 280cm (calculated as girth=length + (2 x height) + (2 x depth)). The UPS courier could refuse to collect any oversized or overweight parcels, or, if they do, they may be liable to surcharges and we certainly wouldn’t want that!
When your parcel arrives at the sorting depot it will be re-weighed and measured to confirm the size and weight are what was stated on booking. Any discrepancies could incur a surcharge so please ensure you have inputted the dimensions accurately. If you haven’t got anything to measure your parcel with then take a look at our guide but remember…. if in doubt it’s best to be generous with your estimations!
What are prohibited and restricted items?
Prohibited items, such as animals, furs and drugs are not permitted to be sent by any courier you book with through My Parcel delivery. Other items can be sent but are not eligible for compensation cover. These restricted items include car parts, glass items and jewellery.
You can view a full list of prohibited and restricted items here but if you’re unsure if your item falls into either of these categories you can simply contact us. Our friendly customer service team are here to help.
