We're very proud of our reputation for delivering great service to our customers here at My Parcel Delivery, but don't just take our word for it – let our reviews, likes and stats speak for themselves!
If you are unable to wait at home for your parcel to be collected then don't leave it outside where anyone could see it! Drop it off at one a Hermes ParcelShop to keep your parcel safe – it might even get there a bit quicker!
If you choose the Hermes drop-off service you will be leaving it at a local shop and they are very strict with maximum sizes. Ensure that your package your items before booking your delivery to check it is less than 15kg in weight to be sure that it will be accepted.
Have A Printer Handy
You need access to a printer to use any of the Hermes services so make sure it is working and topped up with ink before you book. If you don't have access to a printer then you can choose one of the printer-less couriers, just look out for services marked "no printer required" after you get a quote.
Hermes courier services offer different services depending on the weight of the parcel but the maximum length stays the same at 120cm. Do you have a tape measure or scales? If not try our weighing & measuring guide for tips on how to estimate the dimensions - we go with the motto "if in doubt be generous!"
What are the steps for collection and drop-off?
This is nice and easy!
Simply ensure that your parcel is packaged carefully and then attach the label to the outside of the parcel (and to be safe pop one inside the parcel too in case the other falls off). Next, if you have chosen a collection service, wait at the registered address for the courier to arrive and collect your parcel. If you chose a drop-off service then all you need to do is take your parcel with you when you head out and drop it off at one of the drop-off points.
When will my parcel be collected?
For collection the courier can knock on your door anytime between 8am and 8pm so please ensure you are home and the parcel is ready first thing. The courier will have a very busy day and might not be able to come back if it isn’t ready right away.
Where can I drop the parcel off?
You can find your nearest ParcelShop drop-off point here and don't forget, if you drop it off before 12pm, Hermes will collect it from the shop that very same day.
What happens if my item is too big or heavy?
The maximum parcel length permitted is 120cm and maximum weight is 15kg (depending on the service selected). The courier or drop-off point could refuse to accept any oversized or overweight parcels, or if they do accept, you could still be liable for surcharges when it is re-measured and weighed at the sorting depot and we certainly wouldn’t want that! Be accurate with your measurements, read our measuring & measuring guide and remember – if in doubt over estimate rather than under!
What are prohibited and restricted items?
Prohibited items, such as sharp instruments, weapons and credit cards are not permitted to be sent by any courier you book with through My Parcel Delivery. Other items can be sent but are not eligible for compensation cover. These restricted items include tyres, televisions and mirrors.
Take a look at our full list of prohibited & restricted items. If you are unsure whether your item falls into either of these categories simply contact us and our friendly customer service team will be more than happy to help.
When will my item be delivered?
We cannot specify an exact time for delivery, but generally the courier will knock on your door sometime between 8am and 8pm. If the recipient cannot stay home during this time then the courier can leave the parcel in a safe place if a signature is not required. As this is an economy service we recommend you give plenty of time for your parcel to arrive…if it needs to be there in a tight timeframe then you could consider choosing a faster service so that it arrives bang on time.
What should I do if my parcel isn't collected?
The vast majority of parcels are collected on the very first attempt - not an easy task. Unfortunately, every so often, collections fail to occur and we're really sorry about this. Hermes aren't able to offer a guaranteed collection date, but we can assure you they do everything possible to knock on your door on the estimated date. Whether your courier ran out of time, or the courier arrived but the parcel was not available, contact us to reschedule your collection. Otherwise, why not change your service to a drop-off? You could take your parcel to one of thousands of drop-off points nationwide, find your local drop-off point here (just make sure you let us know!)
What do I do if my parcel fails to be delivered?
On average, our courier partners enjoy a massive 95% success rate with their deliveries. That said, although most go without a hitch, occasionally things can go wrong and none of the couriers are able to guarantee their delivery dates. Anything from heavy traffic and road closures to accidents and bad weather can affect the courier's route and their ability to deliver on time. If this happens to you we're truly sorry for the inconvenience. We’ll email you, to keep you up to date, but you can contact us if you need help to reschedule your delivery for a different day.
