Amazon’s Drone delivery service plans have been grounded by the US federal Aviation Administration. Hermes launches new warrington hub

Parcel delivery company Hermes have launched their brand new site in Warrington, North West England. With more and more people shopping online and sending parcels every day, Leeds-based Hermes invested £25m in building a purpose-built hub capable of handling over 550,000 parcels every day. Royal Mail launch sunday service test

There are few things more frustrating than having your parcel held hostage in a sorting office over the weekend. Hermes and DPD have already realised this frustration and now deliver on a Sunday, while Parcelforce Worldwide announced Sunday services would be available to selected online retailers from next month. Yesterday, the Royal mail followed suit by announcing a pilot scheme to be run later this summer. They aim to benefit from the boom in online shopping and help those who miss their parcel midweek who don’t want to, or indeed can’t, spend their Saturday mornings queuing at their local sorting office.
