The central African country of Rwanda is a small and densely populated place where around 90% of the population work in agriculture. A place that had major ethnic problems and tensions in the mid-1990s, it is striving to rebuild the economy and build the foundations of stability. Bordered by Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania and Uganda, it is landlocked, highly elevated and contains numerous lakes. As it doesn’t have the natural resources or industry of its neighbours, farmland is the source of most of the exports and they produce plenty of coffee and tea to export around the world. With high growth predicted in the next few years, trade and the demand for delivery services in Rwanda is likely to increase. Being home to the rare mountain gorillas and with the Virunga volcanoes in the landscape, there is also the potential for tourism to grow as people cover the 4,085 miles from the UK.
