Please insert the delivery address and MPD booking reference either inside your parcel or write on the outside of the box just in case your label is damaged
It’s essential that you package your parcel carefully by following our packaging guidelines. This will keep it safe as it travels around the sorting depot on machines.
Do you have a tape measure or scales? If not take a look at our weighing and measuring guide for tips on how to estimate the dimensions. To make sure your parcel is accepted we go with the motto "if in doubt be generous!"
What are the steps for collection?
Once your parcel is packaged correctly and ready to go clearly write your name, collection address, delivery address and MPD reference number onto the outside of your parcel in marker pen. If this isn’t possible you can insert it into your parcel on a piece of paper. The DX driver will bring your shipping label with them, just check the delivery address on the label is correct before the courier leaves. Finally the DX courier will request a signature confirming collection – that sounds nice and secure to us!
What time will the courier arrive for a collection?
The courier can arrive at your door any time between 8am and 6pm so please arrange your collection for a day when you can stay at the address. At busy periods, such as Christmas when people are posting thousands of gifts to one another, these times may be extended.
Can I leave the item outside for the courier to pick up if I am not at home?
Security is one of the key features with the DX courier service and so they require that you sign as proof of collection and as such they are unable to collect your parcel without you being there.
What happens if my item is too big or heavy?
The maximum parcel length permitted is 100cm and maximum weight is 20kg with a maximum volume of 40 litres. The DX courier could refuse to collect any oversized or overweight parcels, or if they do collect them, they are liable to surcharges which none of us want! Parcel are re-measured and weighed when they arrive at the sorting depot to confirm the size and weight are accurate and as stated on booking - any discrepancies could incur a surcharge. Be careful when you measure your parcel to ensure you’ve inputted the dimensions accurately. If you don’t have anything to measure with, then try using our guide to weighing & measuring and remember the golden rule…if in doubt be generous with your estimations!
What are prohibited and restricted items?
Prohibited items, such as fireworks, drugs/medicines and perishable goods are not permitted to be sent by any courier you book with through My Parcel Delivery. Other items can be sent but are not eligible for compensation cover. These restricted items include clocks, desktop computers, and mirrors.

When will my item be delivered?
As with collection the DX courier can arrive at your door any time between 8am and 6pm so please arrange delivery for a day when the recipient can stay at the address. The times can be extended during busy times of year but generally delivery will be between these times.
What happens if nobody is at home when the courier arrives to deliver the item?
For the standard DX service, the courier will either try to post the item through your letterbox, deliver to a neighbour or find a safe place to leave it at the address. A calling card will be posted with details of where they left your item. The premium DX service on the other hand offers the additional security of guaranteed signature on delivery so if this is missed it will need to be rescheduled.
What should I do if my parcel isn't collected?
Most parcels are collected from your address by DX on the very first attempt. Unfortunately, every so often, collections can fail to occur - we're really sorry if this happens to you. DX can't offer guaranteed collection dates, but we assure you they do everything they can to knock on your door on the estimated date. Whether your courier ran out of time, or the courier arrived but the parcel was not available, contact us to reschedule your collection.
What do I do if my parcel fails to be delivered?
Overall our courier partners enjoy a massive 95% success rate with their deliveries - a fantastic figure. But while most deliveries go without a hitch, occasionally things go wrong and DX aren't able to guarantee their delivery dates. A whole host of factors such as heavy traffic, road closures, car accidents and bad weather can affect the courier's route and whether they can deliver on time. If you experience this we're truly sorry for any inconvenience caused. We’ll email you to keep you up to date with the delivery but you can contact us if you need help to reschedule for a different day.
