Package Your Parcels

Parcel drop-off points are very strict with maximum sizes as they are usually at local shops without much storage space. Ensure that you package your items before booking your delivery to check it sits within the parameters and ensure it can be accepted.

Dimension Checks

Do you have a tape measure or scales? If not try our weighing & measuring guide for tips on how to estimate the dimensions - we go with the motto "if in doubt be generous!" It’s best to check that you are eligible to use a service before you turn up at the shop!

Have A Printer Handy

You need access to a printer to use any of the drop-off services so make sure it is working and topped up with ink before you book. If you don’t have access to a printer then you can choose one of the printer-less couriers using the filter on our results page – we can still find you the perfect match.

Frequently asked questions

How soon can I drop-off my parcel?

This is the beauty of the drop-off service, as soon as you place your order and print your label you can drop the parcel off. You don’t need to do it on a certain day although the longer you wait, the longer your parcel will take to be delivered. The only thing you need to decide is which drop-off point to choose! You can find the drop-off points for each courier below.

And remember, if you book with CollectPlus or Hermes, and drop it off before 12 noon, your parcel will start it's journey the very same day, helping you get it delievered even faster!

My parcel is bigger/heavier than allowed, can I still send it?

Of course you can! There are 2 different options for you…

  1. Repackage your items into 2 or more parcels that fit with the courier’s drop-off criteria. As the drop-off service is the cheapest out there the price will still be great value.
  2. Head over to our friends at AnyVan.com where you can enjoy deliveries from only £19.99 throughout the UK. These will need to be collected but you can send much more stuff.

What are prohibited and restricted items?

Prohibited items, such as airbag modules, Christmas crackers and external car bodywork are not permitted to be sent by any courier you book through My Parcel Delivery. Other items are able to be sent but aren’t eligible for compensation cover. These restricted items include fishing rods, non-flat-packed furniture and lamps. You can find a full list of prohibited & restricted items here but if you’re unsure whether the contents of your parcel fall into either of these categories then you can simply contact us and our customer service team will be more than happy to help.

What do I do if my parcel is not delivered?

Our courier partners enjoy an impressive 95% success rate for deliveries. That said, although most go without a hitch, very occasionally things can go wrong and none of the couriers can guarantee their delivery dates. This is because anything from road closures and heavy traffic to bad weather and accidents can affect a courier’s route and whether they can deliver your parcel on time. If you experience a delay, we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience. Just contact us and we will help to re-book your service as quickly as possible.
