You can choose between collection and drop off services depending on what is convenient for you. Have your parcel collected direct from your door with Economy and Saturday Collection services, or take your parcel to a local drop off point, usually your local newsagent or garage, and continue with your day. 

  • Hermes Economy Delivery - Perfect if you don't mind waiting in on a weekday for the collection of your parcel, the standard delivery time is 3-5 days
  • Hermes Economy Saturday Collection - Can’t wait in for your collection midweek? You can arrange a Saturday collection for added convenience. Again, the standard delivery time is 3-5 days
  • Hermes Parcel Shop - Don’t want to wait home for a courier to collect your parcel? Simply drop it off at a convenient location and you could have it delivered even faster with a 2-5 day service

Before you book your economy parcel delivery be sure to check the Hermes service restrictions.

  • Maximum parcel length – 120cm
  • Maximum parcel weight – 15kg
  • A printer is required to use the Hermes service. Please ensure the shipping label is printed and attached to your parcel before collection
  • Hermes are unable to offer a guaranteed collection and delivery date and the dates above are for guidance only. In the unlikely event you have any problems with your collection or delivery then don’t worry! Simply contact us and we will help

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the steps for collection?
Please ensure your item is packaged correctly and ready to go. Print your shipping label and attach it to the outside of your parcel securely. We also recommend printing an additional label and inserting it into your parcel in case your label is lost or damaged.

What time will the courier arrive for a collection?
We cannot specify an exact time for collection, but the Hermes courier will arrive between 8am and 8pm. If you choose a drop-off service you can find your nearest Parcel Shop here.

Can I leave the item outside for the courier to pick up if I am not at home?
You must ensure someone is home when the courier arrives to collect your parcel, the courier is unable to collect any unattended parcels.

What happens if my item:

Is too large?
The maximum parcel length permitted is 120cm. The courier could refuse to collect any oversized parcels or they may be liable to surcharges when measured at the courier depot.
Is too heavy?
The maximum parcel weight is 15kg. The courier could refuse to collect any overweight parcels or they may be liable to surcharges when measured at the courier depot.

Once arriving at the sorting depot all parcels are re-measured and weighed to confirm that they are as originally booked. Any discrepancies could incur a surcharge so please ensure you have inputted the dimensions accurately when booking your delivery.

What are prohibited and restricted items?
Prohibited items, including items such as plants/seeds, liquids, drugs and currency, are items you cannot send via any courier, including Hermes. Restricted items, including items such as jewellery, china, glass items and car parts, are items you can send only on a no compensation basis. This means that if they are lost or damaged in transit you are unable to make a claim for compensation so be sure to check the Prohibited & Restricted items list before booking your parcel delivery.

When will my item be delivered?
We cannot specify an exact time for delivery, but generally the courier will arrive between 8am and 8pm.

What happens if nobody is at home when the courier arrives to deliver the item?
If nobody is at home the Hermes courier will leave your parcel in a safe place if available. If there is a specific location you would like the parcel to be left please include this on the delivery details in the “Delivery Note” section.
